Insights From Betta Edu: Daddy Freeze Explores The Dynamics of Opposing Youths Leading Nigeria
In a recent Instagram live session, controversial media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, expressed his unconventional view that he would rather have experienced but older politicians, even if they are considered ‘thieves,’ remain in power than see leadership handed over to youths…..CONTINUE READING
This perspective arose in response to the suspension of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet on allegations of fraud.
Daddy Freeze attributed Betta Edu’s predicament to her perceived inexperience, citing that she faced corruption allegations within a short span of five months in office.
He argued that older politicians possess a better understanding of the intricate systems in place, emphasizing that, compared to youths, they are less likely to “steal the system senselessly.”
In his statement, Daddy Freeze expressed skepticism about having youths lead Nigeria, stating, “I don’t want youths to lead Nigeria. I would rather have an old thief that understands the system than a young thief that would just steal the system senselessly.”
He further pointed out Betta Edu’s age, highlighting that she is a proper youth, and asserted that he prefers the older generation of politicians, such as Tinubu, Atiku, or Obi, over youths.
While acknowledging that some may reject the idea of older leaders, Daddy Freeze argued that he believes in the experience of these older figures, suggesting a preference for their leadership over that of Nigerian youths, whom he claimed may lack a sense of conscience.
