‘It Was Time For A Break’: Omotola Jalade Reveals Why She Stepped Away From Acting
Popular Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has opened up on the reason for her long absence from the movie industry.
The thespian explained that she needed to take a break from acting to relax, reflect and recharge her body.
She disclosed this on Friday via her Instagram page.
The veteran, who started her acting career at age 15, said that working non-stop for decades made her feel the need to unwind and revitalise.
She emphasised that taking time off is essential to maintaining her creative energy and passion for her craft.
The actress wrote, “I know many never understand why I take time off movies for a few years, then come back and do it again! Lol…
“I see fans asking when I’ll be back on screens, but when you’ve been working since you were 15, like I have…
“You’ll do good to Relax, Relive, Relearn and Recharge. Who understands & who’s following.”
Destiny Etiko Clarifies Purported Luxury Car Gift From Omotola’s Husband
Meanwhile, Nollywood actress, Destiny Etiko, has addressed claims that Matthew Ekeinde, husband of Omotola Jalade, gifted her a luxury car.
Naija News reports that a TikTok blogger had alleged that the Enugu-born actress had an affair with the husband of her colleague, who bought her a car on her birthday last week
However, in a video shared on her Instagram page, Destiny dismissed the allegation and lamented the continuous efforts by some individuals to tarnish her image.
The thespian added that the viral photo of her and Ekeinde was taken over four years ago.
She said, “If you want to withhold the blessings of God in somebody else’s life and you want to grow, it is impossible. Before, you guys had always spoken ill about me. Do men give money? If they do, I do not know.
“Even if they do, I do not know. The last time I checked, I worked for 99.9% of all I have. I did it all myself with my full chest. I do not know why some people are bitter; perhaps they are scared.
“On most of my birthdays, I always buy a car because I love to change my car every year.
“Some bitter people…sat down and brought pictures of Omotola’s husband that I took with him over four years ago.
“And how did I happen? I was on a flight and he was the pilot, so some people were snapping pictures with me. He asked what was happening and they told him I was an actress.
“He looked and I greeted him with (the) respect of a senior colleague’s husband. I asked him to let us take a selfie because of respect. We went there and took a selfie and that was it.”
