In a statement released by Professor Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, the Secretary General of JNI, Muslims are encouraged to intensify their efforts in giving alms to the less fortunate, including the poor, orphans, and the handicapped in society.

The statement emphasized the significance of Zakatul Fitr, the ordained food or almsgiving at the end of Ramadan fasting, which should be distributed to the needy in the last three days of Ramadan or on Eid-el-Fitr day before the Eid prayer commences.

Under the leadership of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, JNI seeks divine facilitation for the successful observance of the remaining days of Ramadan.
