Expressing solidarity, Governor Sule emphasized the importance of identifying the root causes of the attacks and finding lasting solutions. He labeled the incident as terrorism and urged the swift apprehension and punishment of the perpetrators.

Governors Hyacinth Alia and Mohammed Umar Bago of Benue and Niger states, respectively, condemned the killings and called for unity among the affected states to combat terrorism. Governor Alia stressed the necessity for a united strategy and consistent border checks to curb the menace.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) joined the calls for urgent action from the Federal Government, citing a perceived gap in the security architecture, lack of inter-agency coordination, and poor intelligence gathering. The NBA President, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau (SAN), urged comprehensive security investments and bespoke measures for each region.

Former Senate President David Mark echoed the need for a security architecture review, urging the declaration of a security emergency to identify and address existing loopholes. Northern Christian Youth Professionals also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to revive the forest guard policy as a measure to enhance security.

The Plateau chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) visited Governor Caleb Mutfwang, emphasizing the importance of stakeholders being responsive to early warning signals. The Emir of Wase, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna, condemned the attacks as irreligious and urged collective efforts to prevent a recurrence.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) contributed by donating Trauma Kits to the Plateau government, aimed at providing immediate relief for the victims. The kits contain over 60 pieces of equipment and are expected to assist in addressing the health needs of displaced persons in the state.
