Joshua’s Next Fight Likely Delayed Until May, Says Eddie Hearn

While there was talk of a February 22 rematch, Hearn revealed that Joshua needs more time to recover fully. “We had an honest discussion,” Hearn said, explaining that while Joshua was eager to fight in February, the timeline was too soon for him to be at peak condition.

Hearn assured fans that Joshua’s injuries are minor, attributing them to typical wear and tear from intense training and competition. “We recommended a return in May or June to ensure he’s mentally and physically at his best,” Hearn stated.

He also suggested that another loss to Dubois could prompt serious consideration about Joshua’s future in boxing. Despite the delay, Hearn hinted at a possible future super fight with Tyson Fury, who will face unified champion Oleksandr Usyk in December.
