Political Alliance On The Horizon? Kwankwaso And Otti Meet Amid 2027 Election Rumors

such as House Speaker Emmanuel Emeruwa, top aides, and members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
While Kwankwaso stated his visit was to offer condolences to Otti following the passing of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the first governor of the old Abia State, political observers quickly speculated about the possibility of an alliance between Kwankwaso and Otti, Nigeria’s sole Labour Party governor.
Kwankwaso’s visit also coincided with a reception held by Governor Otti for 15 Abia State indigenes who recently graduated from the Nigeria Police Academy in Kano, adding to the growing speculation of a political collaboration.
In the wake of the visit, analysts suggested the meeting may be part of Labour Party efforts, led by Peter Obi, to form alliances with other opposition parties in anticipation of the 2027 general election.
One analyst noted, “With 2027 approaching, it’s unlikely these leaders would meet without discussing the next presidential election.” Another observed, “Kwankwaso and Otti understand that a strong alliance is essential to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling APC in 2027
