According to Ireporter Online, controversial investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has raised concerns over the source of large virtual gifts received by Nigerian TikTok livestreamers, suggesting that some of the earnings may be linked to questionable financial activities.

In a recent video amid the ongoing online dispute between Peller and Joblaq, Olunloyo questioned how certain content creators consistently receive high-value gifts during livestream sessions. She alleged that such digital gifts could be funded through fraudulent means, including the use of stolen credit card information, though she did not provide verified evidence to support the claims.

She further suggested that some streamers, including popular figures such as Peller and Carter Efe, may be benefiting from these transactions, raising questions about the legitimacy of their reported earnings from TikTok livestreaming.

Olunloyo also referenced the possibility of international scrutiny, claiming that agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation could already be monitoring related activities. However, there has been no official confirmation from any law enforcement authority regarding such investigations or links.

The journalist explained that TikTok livestream gifts such as “lions” and other virtual items are converted into monetary value by creators, alleging that some of these gifts may originate from individuals involved in online fraud schemes. She also made additional claims connecting ongoing disputes between some influencers to disagreements over financial gains and alleged associations, though these assertions remain unverified.

Her comments have since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many users debating the credibility of her claims.
