JUST IN: Buhari Calls Out Governors Who Steal LG Funds
On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari stated that governors steal from local government council allocations.
The President, who spoke extempore after delivering his speech at the State House for members of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Senior Executive Course 44 (2022), emphasized the importance of personal integrity in government operations.

He recalled a case in which a state governor received allocation on behalf of council areas in his state, only to remit half of such allocation to council chairmen.
These actions, he claimed, exemplified the type of corruption that is now prevalent in Nigeria, with resources intended for local council administrations being diverted elsewhere, undermining development.
In his speech, Buhari congratulated the Senior Executive Course 44 participants on their successful completion of the course. He challenged them to revitalize and reinvigorate leadership at all levels of the organization.
