JUST IN: ICPC Releases D’banj 72 Hours After Detention

Dbanj

D’banj has been released by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

The Kokomaster was released on Friday after nearly 72 hours in custody, with the condition that he be summoned by the commission at a later date.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the singer’s lawyer, stated that D’banj cooperated with the Commission during its investigation.

Olajengbesi stated that the pop star was released on his own recognizance but did not specify whether he was on administrative bail.

“Nothing incriminating was found on him. He was released on self-recognition. Right now, we expect the ICPC to give a letter of clearance to Dbanj because, as we have always said, he is innocent of the charges brought against him,” he said.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) arrested and detained D’banj on Tuesday.

He was accused of fraudulently diverting millions of dollars earmarked by the Federal Government for the N-Power project, an empowerment program established in 2016 to address youth unemployment and social development.
