Anti-party: NNPP Kaduna chairman removed by vote of no confidence

Ben Kure, the chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kaduna State, has been deposed.

Kure was fired on Tuesday after the NNPP’s state working committee voted no confidence in him during its meeting and deliberations.

Hosea Baba, Vice Chairman of Zone 2, proposed the removal, which was seconded by Alhaji Sa’ad Idris Kudan, State Organising Secretary.

Ibrahim Ahmed, the party’s state legal adviser, was also fired along with the chairman.

Kure has since been replaced by Nuhu Audu, the former NNPP State Caretaker Chairman.

Audu, the interim chairman of the state’s Sanga local government area, has been declared the party’s authentic state chairman.

According to a statement issued shortly after the meeting by the party’s state publicity secretary, Col Albehu Dauda Gora (retd), both Kure and Ahmed violated the provisions of Article 31:1 of the NNPP constitution and Sections 82 (1) (3) (5)&83(1) of the Electoral Act, 2022.
