In an official statement via its X account, SERAP commended President Tinubu for promptly addressing allegations against the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu.

The group urged Tinubu to display the same commitment by directing the Attorney General of the Federation to enforce a Federal High Court ruling that mandates former presidents, including Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari, to provide an account of how the $5 billion Abacha loot was expended.

SERAP has consistently advocated for a thorough investigation into alleged financial improprieties within the Nigerian government and has urged relevant anti-corruption agencies to promptly scrutinize the matter to ensure transparency and accountability.
