Kano Anti-Graft Agency Traces N51.3bn Misappropriated By Ganduje: Revelations Of Corruption Unveiled
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCCAC) has revealed shocking details of alleged misappropriation involving former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the current national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)……READ ALSO Allegations Against Ganduje: Kano Anti-corruption Commission Reveals Sale Of Government Company To Family
According to the Chairman of the PCCAC, Muhuyi Magaji, during an interview on Arise TV, approximately N51.3 billion has been traced to Ganduje, with further revelations indicating a staggering total exceeding N100 billion.
Magaji outlined a systematic scheme wherein funds were purportedly diverted to various local government accounts, only to be channeled through third parties and eventually converted into dollars. He disclosed that the investigation uncovered confessional statements from over 200 individuals, including government officials, implicating them in the alleged diversion of funds. The funds, originally intended for public projects, were reportedly siphoned off through fraudulent expenditure claims and illicit transactions.
Furthermore, Magaji highlighted the sale of a state-owned company, a cotton ginnery, to a firm linked to Ganduje’s family. The transaction, conducted at a fraction of the property’s actual value, raised suspicions of nepotism and corruption. Despite the low sale price of N320 million, significantly below the property’s estimated worth of N2 billion, the full amount was not remitted, further fueling concerns of financial impropriety.
The revelations underscore the depth of corruption allegations against Ganduje and the urgent need for accountability and transparency in governance. As investigations progress, the evidence gathered by the PCCAC is poised to be presented in court, signaling a pivotal moment in the fight against corruption in Kano State.
The allegations against the APC national chairman are emblematic of broader challenges facing Nigeria’s political landscape, highlighting the imperative of robust anti-corruption measures to safeguard public resources and uphold the rule of law.
