sway over Yusuf’s administration, with claims that he influences key policies, Sumaila warned the governor that betraying the trust of Kano’s people would have dire consequences.
In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Sumaila emphasized that if Yusuf fails to serve the people, millions of Kano citizens would not forgive him. He urged the governor to work in unity with Kwankwaso for the greater good of the state while ensuring that the rights of all citizens—including members of the APC, PDP, and smaller parties—are protected.
Sumaila reminded Governor Yusuf that his leadership is not solely about Kwankwaso or his political base, but about fulfilling the promises made to the diverse supporters who helped him rise to power. He cautioned that betraying the people, who collectively put their faith in him, is a grave danger that must be avoided.
