Kano Ulamas Storm Prayer Ground For Tinubu And Barau’s Divine Breakthrough

Ulamas and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 44 local government areas of Kano State on Thursday converged in Kano for special prayers and animal sacrifice, seeking divine guidance and success for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. The gathering also prayed for Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, to clinch the governorship seat in Kano during the 2027 elections.

The event, which took place at Gidan Baban Liya in Kurna, Kano Municipal, was organized by the Tinubu/Barau/Atah Movement under the leadership of Mohammed Sabiu Nuhu. The group revealed its plans to rally political support for the APC ahead of the next general elections, projecting that the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Yusuf Atah, will run alongside Barau as his deputy in the governorship race.

Highlights of the occasion included the slaughtering of a ram as an act of devotion and a special Islamic prayer session led by Musa Babaliya. Hundreds of clerics, Imams, women, and children who recited verses of the Qur’an participated in the spiritual exercise, seeking divine favor for electoral victory.

Speaking to journalists, the Convener of the Movement, Hon. Seyi Olorunsola, explained that the prayers were intended to strengthen the chances of President Tinubu’s second-term bid and Barau’s governorship ambition. He praised the president’s performance, noting significant progress in road projects, reduced food prices, improved employment opportunities, and efforts to tackle insecurity. Olorunsola stressed that Nigerians were beginning to feel relief after years of hardship, adding that Kano would deliver strongly for Tinubu in 2027.

On Barau Jibrin’s suitability to lead the APC ticket in Kano, Olorunsola argued that he remains the strongest candidate to unseat the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) at the polls. He highlighted the strategic value of Abdullahi Atah’s appointment as Minister of State, describing him as the best candidate to counter Governor Abba Yusuf’s influence in Kano Central. He further noted that with Barau representing Kano North and Senator Kawu Sumaila holding sway in Kano South, the APC would assemble a formidable team capable of sweeping the elections with ease.

Also speaking at the event, Sarkin Yaki Matasa, Saminu Khalid Abdullahi, described the Tinubu/Barau/Atah Movement as a grassroots platform committed to mobilizing massive support for President Tinubu, Senator Barau Jibrin, and Abdullahi Atah while rallying citizens behind their governance agenda as the nation moves closer to the 2027 polls.
