Kano’s NPFM Vows Unending Protests After Curfew Lifts, Demands Action From President Tinubu

A group, the Nigerian Patriotic Front Movement (NPFM), Northern chapter, has vowed to launch an indefinite protest in Kano State immediately after the current curfew is lifted. The NPFM is one of the key organizations participating in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest.

In a telephone interview with Ireporteronline on Saturday, NPFM’s Secretary, Comrade Anas Adamu, expressed the group’s dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s response to their demands, even after ten days of nationwide protests.

“We shall resume the protest immediately after the curfew is lifted, and it will be indefinite because the government has not met our demands,” Adamu stated. He criticized the President’s recent address as an “empty speech” that failed to address the core issues raised by the protesters.

Adamu emphasized that the group is committed to peaceful protests and disapproves of any violence or destruction of property. He called for the immediate release of peaceful protesters detained by security personnel and defended the right to protest as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.

The NPFM has begun mobilizing its members in preparation for the next phase of protests, underscoring their resolve to continue until their demands are met. Adamu also addressed the controversy surrounding protesters flying Russian flags, stating that the group would soon issue an official statement on the matter.
