Kwara State University Promotes Three To Professorship, 25 To Associate Professor

The Governing Council of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has approved the promotion of three academic staff to the rank of professor, while 25 others have been elevated to associate professor status.

The newly appointed full professors are:

• Prof. Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau – Agricultural Production Economics (Faculty of Agriculture)

• Prof. Moshood Zakariyah – Sociolinguistics (Faculty of Arts)

• Prof. Gafar Olorisade – Educational Administration (Faculty of Education)

Dr. Aliyu noted that the 25 newly promoted associate professors span multiple faculties including Agriculture, Arts, Education, Engineering and Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Law, Management and Social Sciences, and Pure and Applied Sciences.

From the Faculty of Agriculture, the promotions include:

• Dr. Latifat Kehinde Olatinwo and Dr. Felicia Motunrayo Olooto (Agric Extension and Rural Development)

• Dr. Olarinke Victoria Adeniyi (Aquaculture Management)

• Dr. James Adebayo Ojo (Entomology)

• Dr. Akeem Olayemi Raji (Food Processing Technology)

In the Faculty of Arts:

• Dr. Yahya Toyin Muritala (Modern Arabic Linguistics and Translation)

• Dr. Yunusa Muhammed Jamiu (Modern Arabic Literature)

• Dr. Oluwatomi Oluwatayo Adeoti (Pragmatics and Discourse Studies)

Others include:

• Dr. Sherifat Hussain-Abubakar (Islamic Family Law and Gender Studies)

• Dr. Khalid Ishola Bello (Islamic Economics)

From the Faculty of Engineering and Technology:

• Dr. Olalekan Ogunbiyi (Power Systems and Automatic Control Engineering)

• Dr. Rasheed Amao Busari (Farm Power and Machinery)

• Dr. Kamoru Olufemi Oladosu (Production and Renewable Energy)

In the Faculty of Education, Dr. Usman Tunde Saadu (Educational Psychology) was elevated, while in the Faculty of ICT, Dr. Ronke Seyi Babatunde (Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence) was promoted.

The Faculty of Law saw:

• Dr. Olariyike Damola Akintoye (Property and Business Law)

• Dr. Abdullahi Saliu Ishola (Islamic Law) elevated to associate professor.

In the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences:

• Dr. Abdullahi Alabi (Comparative Politics and Administration)

• Dr. Idris Danjuma Mohammed (Development Studies and Local Government Administration)

• Dr. Ibrahim Ogirima Salawu (Public Policy and Governance) were all promoted.

Within the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences, promoted scholars include:

• Dr. Emmanuel Anyachukwu Irondi (Food and Nutritional Biochemistry)

• Dr. Abdulazeez Kayode Jimoh (Numerical Analysis and Computational Mathematics)

• Dr. Kazeem Issa (Numerical Analysis)

• Dr. Wasiu Akanni Yahya (Theoretical and Computational Physics)

• Dr. Abiodun Obembe (Entomology)
