Lamido Endorses David Mark For PDP Chairmanship Position, Cites Experience And Respect

Sule Lamido, former Governor of Jigawa State, has endorsed David Mark, the former President of the Nigerian Senate, as the ideal candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship. Lamido, responding to rumors about an offer for himself to lead the PDP, emphasized that Mark’s maturity, experience, and respect across party lines make him the best fit for the role.

Lamido expressed his preference for Mark, citing his ability to command respect and work effectively with governors. He acknowledged his own limitations and the potential challenges in assuming the chairmanship role. Although Mark declined the position, Lamido stressed the importance of choosing a leader who prioritizes Nigeria’s national interest over personal ambitions.

Additionally, Lamido discussed his reservations about forming new political alliances and criticized the current administration led by Tinubu, noting that his assessments might be seen as biased. He underscored the need for any political alliance to be grounded in genuine concern for Nigeria’s future rather than mere power grabs.
