APGA Leadership Dispute Will Not Prevent Soludo’s Re-Election – Ezeokenwa

The factional Chairman of the All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA), Sylvester Ezeokenwa, has dismissed concerns that the ongoing internal crisis within the party will impede the re-election bid of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo. Ezeokenwa emphasized that political turbulence is a common occurrence during election periods and does not necessarily hinder electoral success.

In an interview on Channels Television’s *Politics Today*, Ezeokenwa highlighted historical precedents, noting that similar crises had not prevented the re-election of previous APGA governors. “We experienced internal issues in 2009, yet Governor Peter Obi was re-elected; the same occurred in 2013 and 2017 with Governor Willie Obiano. The recent disputes in 2021 did not stop Professor Charles Soludo from winning,” Ezeokenwa stated.

The factional dispute within APGA gained attention following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recognition of Edozie Njoku as the party’s national chair, based on a court order. Ezeokenwa, who was elected as APGA’s chair in May 2023, remains confident that the party’s commitment to Anambra’s development and its historical support will ensure Soludo’s re-election.

Ezeokenwa assured that despite the current challenges, the party’s core values and the support of Anambra’s electorate will prevail, enabling APGA to maintain its influence and continue its governance in the state.
