Amid reports of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency officials confiscating and destroying newspapers from vendors, the LP forum, represented by spokesperson Humphrey Iloh, condemned the act as authoritarian and dictatorial.

Drawing attention to the broader context of escalating tensions, including the recent killing of a drug dealer by the Special Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad (SASA), the LP forum warned against further humiliation and intimidation of residents under Soludo’s administration.

Expressing grave concern over what they perceive as a slide into dictatorship, the LP forum vowed to pursue legal action, threatening to compel the House of Assembly to initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Soludo if such actions persist.

Highlighting the contrast between the current governance style and the peaceful Anambra of the past, the LP forum underscored the violation of constitutional principles regarding the security and welfare of citizens, as enshrined in Section 14(2)(b) of the Nigerian Constitution.

In essence, the LP forum’s condemnation serves as a rallying cry against perceived authoritarianism, calling for accountability and respect for democratic values in Anambra State under Governor Soludo’s leadership.
