Man City Boss Pep Guardiola Responds To Rosenior Sack
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed sympathy for Liam Rosenior following his dismissal by Chelsea FC after a heavy loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to Ireporter Online, Rosenior was relieved of his duties on Wednesday in the aftermath of Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat in the Premier League over the weekend. Reacting to the development, Guardiola said he felt sorry for the 41-year-old coach, insisting he has the quality to operate at the highest level.
Speaking after Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Burnley FC, Guardiola described the situation as unfortunate, noting that such moments often remind him of how fortunate he is to be working in a stable environment. He maintained that Rosenior remains a capable manager despite the setback.
The victory saw Manchester City return to the top of the Premier League table for the first time since August, intensifying the title race with Arsenal FC. Both sides are level on 70 points with a goal difference of 37, but City currently lead due to a higher number of goals scored, having netted 66 compared to Arsenal’s 63.
Guardiola acknowledged the pressure of the run-in, stressing that his team cannot afford any slip-ups as the season approaches its conclusion. He also pointed to upcoming fixtures, including the FA Cup and five remaining league matches, emphasizing that winning every game is their only path to securing the title.
Manchester City last lifted the Premier League trophy in 2023 under Guardiola, and the club must maintain a flawless finish to stay ahead in the closely contested race.
