in Detroit, USA.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ibrahim Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to the Katsina State Governor, reported that this delivery followed Governor Dikko Radda’s visit to the World Medical Relief headquarters in November 2023, where he met with the organization’s President, Mr. George Samson, and his team.
“The Governor expressed his commitment to ensuring that the people of Katsina have access to quality healthcare. He also shared the results of a healthcare needs assessment conducted by the Katsina State Government shortly after he took office,” he stated.
“Consequently, Governor Radda secured a promise for ten containers of essential medical equipment and supplies. It is important to note that an average container contains supplies worth about $1 million,” he added.
Kaula further mentioned that two additional containers are currently on their way from Lagos, while seven more are in transit across the ocean.
“Furthermore, World Medical Relief has expressed its commitment to assist Katsina State in sourcing advanced MRI and CT scan equipment, including installation and technician training at discounted rates,” he continued.
Governor Radda described the partnership with World Medical Relief as part of the administration’s commitment to reforming healthcare in Katsina State. “These medical supplies will greatly enhance our ability to provide quality healthcare services to our citizens,” the Governor stated.
“The State Government has also established a distribution plan to ensure these vital medical resources efficiently reach healthcare facilities.”
Since taking office, Governor Radda has demonstrated a strong interest in overhauling the healthcare system in the state, resulting in significant upgrades and transformations of several healthcare facilities to meet Comprehensive Health Centre and General Hospital standards to better serve local residents, Mohammed explained.
