Isha Sesay To Open Up On Career Journey, Motherhood On CNN African Voices

According to Ireporter Online, renowned British–Sierra Leonean journalist Isha Sesay is set to return to CNN screens this week as a special guest on African Voices, the network’s 30-minute flagship magazine programme sponsored by digital solutions provider Globacom.

The veteran broadcaster will use the special feature to reflect on her decades-long career in journalism, her humanitarian work across Africa, and her personal journey into single motherhood. The programme is expected to offer viewers an intimate look at both her professional milestones and life beyond the newsroom.

Sesay began her media career with roles at the BBC and Sky News before joining CNN in 2005. A graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, she later rose to prominence as host of CNN’s International Desk in 2009, where she conducted interviews with several world leaders, including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

She is also widely recognised for her contributions to Anderson Cooper 360°, where she anchored the 360 Bulletin from 2011 before going on to lead CNN NewsCenter. Beyond broadcasting, Sesay expanded her impact through philanthropy, founding Women Everywhere Can Lead (W.E. Can Lead) in 2014, a non-profit dedicated to mentoring and empowering young African girls for leadership roles.
