The attack took place on Saturday night when the assailants stormed the Mai Rana community in Kusada LGA.

Reports indicate that the perpetrators also abducted two of the deceased’s wives and his daughter, who is currently a university student.

The victims were laid to rest in accordance with Islamic traditions, while tension remains high in the area.

Katsina Police Command spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the attack, stating that police forces responded swiftly and exchanged gunfire with the attackers.

He noted that the assailants eventually retreated, leaving behind one of their operational vehicles and one of the abducted wives.

Assistant Superintendent Aliyu mentioned that efforts are underway to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the gunmen. He called on the public to provide any reliable information regarding the whereabouts of the fleeing suspects.
