Moses Omo-Ikirodah Calls For More Legislative Laws To Enforce Compulsory And Qualitative Education In Rural Communities

Edo State businessman, Moses Omo-Ikirodah believes the legislative arm of the Government can enact more laws that would aid the enforcement of compulsory and qualitative education in rural communities.

According to him the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stipulates that the government shall direct its policies towards ensuring that there are equal and adequate educational opportunities at all levels.

In a chat with reporters over the weekend, Moses Omo-Ikirodah decried the dwindling standard of education in rural communities and has called for a concerted effort by lawmakers in helping to secure quality education for rural dwellers.

“We are greatly concerned that the population of out of school children in Nigeria keeps rising at an alarming rate making it amongst the highest in the world.

Education is a process of acquiring skills, obtaining relevant knowledge and aptitudes in order to survive in this technological world.

Relevant laws are necessary to protect our educational system especially in the rural communities, once the necessary laws are in enforcement then so many things would fall into place, security and protection of public schools should be a priority.

Also, there should be laws to address the issue of parents apathy in rural communities to send their children to school.

The child in the village has a right to quality education and every economical barrier that stands as an impediment should be completely eliminated.
