National Grid Remains Intact, FG Denies New Collapse Reports

claims of a fresh grid failure as false information.This clarification came after power outages in certain areas led to speculation of another collapse. However, officials were swift to reassure that the grid remains operational.
“Please ignore any reports of a grid collapse. It’s false information!” read the statement.
ireporteronline.com.ng notes that if true, this would have been the grid’s third reported failure within a week. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) recently attributed Thursday’s outage, the 11th this year, to a sudden frequency spike caused by technical issues at a substation.
The TCN has initiated repairs to stabilize the grid and has reassured the public of ongoing efforts to enhance electricity supply reliability.
