In a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Mouka, the NCC outlined the progress made in restoring telecommunications services to affected areas.

According to the commission, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) have taken proactive measures to activate alternative connections, ensuring that data and voice services operate optimally despite the ongoing repairs of the undersea cables.

The statement emphasized the commitment of MNOs to maintain service reliability until full repairs are completed, leveraging alternative connectivity options to mitigate the impact of the disruptions.

The NCC also extended its appreciation to telecom consumers for their patience and understanding during the period of service downtime caused by the undersea fibre cuts.
