Nigeria Approves 30-Day Visa-Free Entry For Rwandans

According to official information released by the Nigeria Immigration Service on Friday, all necessary arrangements have been concluded to implement the directive approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The decision mirrors Rwanda’s longstanding policy granting Nigerian citizens visa-free access for up to 30 days and is seen as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and advance regional cooperation across Africa.

The announcement followed President Tinubu’s visit to Kigali, where he participated in the Africa CEO Forum held on Thursday.

Before the forum, Tinubu met with Paul Kagame at the Urugwiro Presidential Villa to discuss areas of mutual interest, including trade, tourism, security cooperation, and broader regional integration.

During the talks, President Tinubu indicated that Nigeria was considering a reciprocal arrangement to match Rwanda’s open-entry policy for Nigerians. He described the initiative as a practical step toward promoting Pan-Africanism and fostering stronger partnerships among African nations.

The new visa-free arrangement is expected to simplify travel between Nigeria and Rwanda, while encouraging increased business opportunities, tourism, and diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
