Victor Osimhen, the dynamic forward for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, is reportedly on the brink of finalizing a sensational permanent transfer to Turkish champions, Galatasaray — a deal that could reshape the summer transfer market.

According to iReporter Online, Galatasaray secured the blockbuster agreement late on Sunday, July 20, just hours before Napoli’s imposed Monday deadline. The long-anticipated move now hinges on the striker completing his medicals, which are scheduled to take place within days.

Veteran broadcaster Onyebuchi Onokala of Wazobia FM, who closely followed the transfer drama, confirmed that the deal had finally been sealed. He stated, “Deal done: Victor James Osimhen to Galatasaray on a permanent move. Final agreement reached between Napoli and Galatasaray for €75 million, with Napoli earning 10% of any future transfer fees. Victor had to push hard for Napoli to accept the fifth offer. Medicals are next.”

Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano echoed the update, revealing that the transfer package includes €5 million in performance-related add-ons and a structured payment plan. Galatasaray will pay €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million due by June 2026.

According to iReporter Online, the deal almost broke down over financial guarantees, as Napoli expressed concern about previous delayed payments from Galatasaray related to players Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili back in 2014. Those past experiences led Napoli to demand solid guarantees before finalizing the agreement.

One of the more controversial elements of the deal was Napoli’s insistence on an “anti-Serie A” clause, which penalizes Galatasaray if they resell Osimhen to an Italian club within two years. Though hesitant, Galatasaray agreed to the unusual clause to complete the negotiations.

The 26-year-old striker previously lit up the Süper Lig during his loan spell at Galatasaray, netting 37 goals and contributing eight assists across 41 matches — a performance that proved instrumental in the club’s decision to meet Napoli’s steep valuation.

According to iReporter Online, the move is expected to be formally announced once Osimhen passes his medical and signs the final documents — bringing to a close one of the most suspenseful transfer sagas in recent Nigerian football history.
