Lookman joins an elite group of footballing legends, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland. The list features a mix of experienced stars and rising talents from top European leagues. Representing English football are Phil Foden of Manchester City, Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid, and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

Messi and Ronaldo have once again made the shortlist, continuing to demonstrate their remarkable skill as they approach the later stages of their careers. Other notable nominees include Bundesliga stars Robert Lewandowski and Leroy Sané, as well as Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. Barcelona’s rising talent, Lamine Yamal, has also been recognized.

The 2024 edition marks the 15th installment of the awards, with the ceremony scheduled for December 27th, coinciding with the 19th Dubai International Sports Conference, in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council.
