Nigerians React As Arsenal Set To Bid €100-Million For Victor-Osimhen Over Transfer Speculation (View Details)
Victor Osimhen, highly coveted after his pivotal role in Napoli’s 2022-2023 Scudetto triumph, may soon see a €100 million offer from Premier League giants Arsenal. Despite a dip in form due to injuries and national team commitments, the Super Eagles striker remains in high demand.
Initially targeted by Paris Saint Germain, who were willing to approach his €130 million release clause, Osimhen’s preference for the Premier League has shifted attention to Arsenal and Chelsea. Recent reports suggest Chelsea’s interest has waned due to Napoli’s financial demands, leaving Arsenal as frontrunners.
Italian journalist Ciro Venerato reports Arsenal’s readiness to tempt Napoli with €100 million, though it falls short of Osimhen’s release clause. The outcome hinges on Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who remains firm on the clause’s value.
Arsenal, cautious not to exceed their record £105 million fee spent on Declan Rice, faces a prolonged negotiation for Osimhen’s services as the saga unfolds.
