Governor Buni emphasized the importance of leveraging available resources to enhance the university’s financial stability. “Other tertiary institutions are benefitting from these agencies. You should also take this advantage and scout for additional funds for the university,” he advised.

He further assured that the state university would receive additional support from both state and local governments to address the current economic challenges. “The future of the state and our people rely on the university to produce the manpower needed for good governance and quality services to the State,” Buni stated.

Barrister Ahmed Mustapha Goniri, chairman of the university’s governing council, highlighted the pressing need for increased funding, citing the rising inflation and its impact on the university’s budget. “More funding is required to meet the needs of the University for it to excel as a centre of academic excellence,” Goniri remarked.

The governor’s call to action aims to ensure that Yobe State University can continue to thrive and contribute significantly to the state’s development through quality education and training.
