In a statement released by the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations of the 81 Division Nigerian Army, Olabisi Olalekan Ayeni, on Thursday, March 14, the Nigerian Army disclosed the arrest of the suspects for various offenses, including illegal duties, providing illegal security, and offering illegal escort services while wearing military uniforms.

The statement highlighted that the impostors were paraded at the Headquarters 81 Division NA, Victoria Island Lagos, on March 13, 2024. The individuals identified as Mr. Abua Jacob, Mr. Solomon Abraham, Mr. Mohammed Jemilu, Mr. Michael Omieh, Mr. Dauda Samuel, Mr. Bida Musa, Miss Esther Audu, and Miss Vivian Titus were arrested for compromising the safety of civilians and tarnishing the esteemed image of the Nigerian Army.

The successful operation by the Nigerian Army serves as a significant step towards maintaining law and order in Lagos State and its environs, ensuring the safety and security of residents amidst the threat posed by criminal elements impersonating military personnel.
