Nigeria’s Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, played a decisive role as Brighton & Hove Albion Women staged a remarkable comeback from two goals down to defeat Liverpool Women 3-2 and secure a place in the Women’s FA Cup Final for the first time in the club’s history.

According to reports, Brighton endured a difficult start to the semi-final encounter as Denise O’Sullivan opened the scoring for Liverpool before Beata Olsson doubled the visitors’ advantage within the opening 22 minutes.

Brighton responded before halftime through Manuela Vanegas, whose goal reignited the contest. The hosts continued their resurgence after the interval when Madison Haley netted her fourth goal of the tournament to restore parity.

With momentum firmly on Brighton’s side, the team pushed relentlessly for a winner. Liverpool nearly snatched victory late in the game, but Nnadozie produced a crucial save to deny substitute Aurelie Csillag and keep Brighton’s hopes alive.

The dramatic winner arrived deep into stoppage time when Nadine Noordam fired home to complete a memorable turnaround and send Brighton to their first-ever FA Cup final.

Brighton will now face Manchester City Women at Wembley Stadium on May 31.

Manchester City earned their place in the final after an extraordinary comeback victory over Chelsea Women. Chelsea appeared to be in control after goals from Sam Kerr and Erin Cuthbert gave them a commanding lead.

However, Mary Fowler reduced the deficit before Khadija Shaw scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser and later headed in the winner during extra time.

Chelsea came close to forcing a response, but goalkeeper Khiara Keating made a vital save to tip Sjoeke Nüsken’s header onto the crossbar.

The victory crowned a memorable week for Manchester City and manager Andrée Jeglertz, who recently guided the club to the Women’s Super League title.
