No More Chances For Atiku In PDP, Wike Says In Strong Critique

Wednesday evening in Abuja, Wike stated that Nigerians have consistently rejected Atiku’s vision, making another run unlikely.

ireporteronline reports that Atiku, the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, recently suggested that his approach, if elected, would have prevented the hardships Nigerians now face under President Bola Tinubu.

“Didn’t he [Atiku] share his plans with Nigerians? And did they choose him? He’s looking for another chance, but it won’t happen—certainly not within PDP,” Wike said. He questioned the wisdom of relying on the same candidate repeatedly.

Drawing comparisons with American politics, Wike observed, “In America, some opposed Trump’s views, yet the people made their decision based on what they felt was right for the country.” He added, “In 2023, Nigerians reviewed Atiku’s plans and chose otherwise. Mere criticism doesn’t mean the opposition is resonating with the people.”
