Nollywood Actress Shine Rosman Opens Up On Hurtful Things Said After Father’s Death
According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has revealed the painful experiences she endured following the death of her father, including disturbing remarks from some individuals who predicted a negative future for her.
Rosman, in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo, disclosed that she lost her father at the age of 16, a tragedy she described as deeply traumatic and emotionally overwhelming. She stated that the incident significantly affected her life at a young age, as she struggled with grief while also facing discouraging comments from people around her.
The actress revealed that some individuals went as far as telling her she would end up engaging in prostitution and experience an unplanned pregnancy out of wedlock. She noted that the harsh words contributed to her emotional distress, adding that she battled suicidal thoughts during that period.
Rosman, however, said the difficult experience eventually became a source of motivation, pushing her to work harder and remain focused on building a better future despite her challenging upbringing.
She explained that growing up without her father and facing financial hardship shaped her ambition and resilience, stating that a more comfortable background might not have driven her the same way.
In a related interview on a podcast hosted by fellow actor Baaj Adebule, Rosman also spoke about misconceptions surrounding the financial status of Nollywood actors. She noted that the public often assumes that actors are wealthy due to their fame and on-screen presence, whereas many are still facing financial challenges.
According to her, only a small fraction of entertainers enjoy financial stability, and many of those perceived as wealthy often rely on additional businesses or side ventures beyond acting. She added that acting alone does not guarantee financial comfort, as several practitioners in the industry continue to struggle despite their popularity on screen.
