Obasanjo Holds Back Major Revelation ‘It’s Not Yet Time To Speak Out
Obasanjo Holds Back Major Revelation ‘It’s Not Yet Time To Speak OutFormer Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, stated that while there is much to be said, now is not the right time. He made this remark on Thursday while serving as the chairman at the 67th birthday celebration of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mike Ozekhome.
As he approached the podium to deliver his speech, Obasanjo invited ex-President Goodluck Jonathan to join him as the co-chairman of the event. Obasanjo praised Ozekhome, describing him as “a remarkable man” and “a radical advocate for positive change, with courage and integrity.”
Obasanjo said, “We are here to honor a man who stands for complete and thorough change.”
When Jonathan took the stage, he revealed that he had written the foreword for one of the 50 books launched by Ozekhome at the event. He hinted that Obasanjo might avoid discussing issues related to the judiciary and recent court rulings.
Before leaving the stage, however, Obasanjo, true to form, took back the microphone and said, “I know former President Jonathan thinks I would remain silent, but I must say that there is much to be said – only it’s not yet the time for it.”
