Speaking from his palace, the Osun monarch emphasized that any attempt to harm him would only test the authority he represents, backed by divine power.

Expressing concern over recent killings of monarchs in Ekiti and Kwara states, Oba Akanbi condemned the degradation of traditional institutions, emphasizing the sacredness of kingship.

He declared, “No bandit or kidnapper can attack or ambush me, not on this earth. They can try it, then they want to test the efficacy of the authority that I am representing.”
