Ooni Of Ife Breaks Silence Oluwo Disrespected Me, Drove Me From His Palace

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, recently shared a past encounter with the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, where he was driven away from the Oluwo’s palace during a visit……CONTINUE READING

In a video circulating on social media, the Ooni revealed that the Oluwo dismissed him like a child during the visit, and since then, he has kept his distance, choosing to manage the situation calmly.

He stated, “When I visited the Oluwo, he chased me away like a child. Since that day, I’ve kept my distance. Now, with people urging me to visit him again, I worry about what might happen if I do. But, as an elder, even though I’m young, I’ve contained his excesses. Oluwo, I greet you.”

In another clip, the Oluwo expressed his disapproval of traditional practices, urging Osun State residents to refrain from such rituals. He emphasized that as a monarch, his duty is to promote worship of God alone, distancing himself from idol worship.

He declared, “My role as a king is to stand for God and speak about Him. I don’t participate in Ogun or any idol festivals. Although I once took part in the Egungun festival, I’ll never do it again unless it’s not considered idol worship. I don’t support those activities, and that’s why they don’t thrive here.”

He further stated that sacrifices are forbidden in Iwo, warning that anyone caught would be made to consume them. “Sacrifices will be eaten by those who make them if they perform them here. Better yet, they should perform these rituals in their homes,” he said.
