Pastor Adeboye’s RCCG Unveils Grand Plan For Nigeria’s 65th Independence Celebration

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has revealed plans to hold a special thanksgiving service on Sunday in celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

The service, themed “The King of Kings,” will be led by the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, at the Throne of Grace, RCCG National Headquarters, Redemption Way, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

In a statement released on Monday, Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Assistant Pastor in charge of Province 1, explained that the thanksgiving service is intended as a time of intercession for the nation. He noted that, guided by divine direction, Pastor Adeboye will lead prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, and progress.

The statement further revealed that the intercessions will include prayers for the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of government, as well as key national institutions such as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies. Prayers will also be offered for political leaders, elder statesmen, and other stakeholders in the nation’s development.

Scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on October 5, 2025, the service is open to the public. The church has urged Nigerians to participate and join in collective prayers for divine guidance and national stability.

“The event will provide an opportunity for citizens and stakeholders to unite in purpose, seeking God’s hand for the continued progress of our country,” the statement added.
