PDP Explodes: Kaduna Local Government Elections ‘Did Not Happen,’ Rejects Entire Process

In the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South Local Government, voting was delayed significantly, with reports indicating it only began around 3:30 PM, well after the scheduled start time.
PDP spokesperson Maria Dogo, in a phone interview, criticized the process, saying, “Election materials were delivered to local government offices without notifying party agents, and no result sheets were included. This is unacceptable, and we want the public to know that no local government elections took place in Kaduna.”
In response, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), Hajiya Hajara Mohammed, reassured the public that measures were in place to prevent any manipulation of results. She also called on politicians to avoid inciting violence or spreading hate speech and encouraged political parties to work with the commission to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
A total of 79 chairmanship candidates from 10 political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), were slated to contest, but the opposition’s claims have raised doubts about the fairness of the process.
