In a bold and defiant move, the leadership and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ehaje Ward II, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, have quashed widespread speculations of mass defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). During an emergency ward meeting held in Owukpa on Wednesday, party stakeholders reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the PDP and described the alleged defections as politically irrelevant. According to iReporter Online, the gathering saw the presence of both former and current executives who were united in their stance to remain with the party despite rising pressures.

The Ward Chairman, Hon. Austin Agbo Ikwuta, issued a stern warning against political infidelity, stressing that party loyalty should not be sacrificed on the altar of selfish ambitions. He condemned those allegedly switching allegiances, stating emphatically that they were never deeply rooted in the PDP’s structure. “You cannot wear the PDP cloth in the daytime and dance at ADC rallies at night. That is not loyalty, that is betrayal,” he declared.

Echoing this sentiment, senior party figure and ex-lawmaker Hon. Matthew Abba praised the steadfastness of ward executives and elders. He hailed their refusal to be swayed by opposition tactics, emphasizing that Ehaje Ward II remains a formidable PDP stronghold. According to iReporter Online, Abba’s message was reinforced by Mr. Godwin Ameh, who spoke on behalf of Senator Abba Moro. He assured party loyalists that the senator had no affiliations with any coalition and remained firmly rooted in the PDP.

“Senator Moro believes in the strength of the grassroots and counts on the dedication of ward leaders like you to stay the course,” said Ameh. The declaration, according to iReporter Online, marked a critical moment in the PDP’s resistance against internal sabotage and external infiltration, positioning Ehaje Ward II as a bulwark of party loyalty amid political turbulence sweeping across the state.
