Peter Obi, Oborevwori, Okowa, Ibori & Political Heavyweights Gather For Nwaoboshi’s Burial

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, joined Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governors James Ibori and Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies, to attend the funeral of the late Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi. The former Senator, who represented Delta North Senatorial District, passed away in December 2025.

According to Ireporter Online, the funeral service took place on Friday, 27 February, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ibusa, Delta State. Obi shared photos from the event on his verified account, praying that God would grant the family and all mourners the strength to cope with the loss.

In his post, Obi described Nwaoboshi as a “distinguished Senator” and extended prayers for eternal rest and comfort for his family. He highlighted the presence of prominent political figures at the ceremony, underscoring the late Senator’s significant contributions to Delta State and national politics.
