The statement highlighted the governor’s commitment to maintaining public tranquillity and preventing any acts that could disrupt peace.

It urged residents to strictly adhere to the revised curfew and refrain from taking the law into their hands. The collaboration between the community and security agencies was emphasized to ensure the complete restoration of peace and order in the area.

While cautioning against complacency, the governor encouraged citizens to actively contribute to security efforts by providing credible intelligence.

The decision to relax the curfew comes after a tragic incident in Kwahaslalek community, where bandits killed over 30 individuals, primarily children and women, and burned houses and property.

The attack occurred during a curfew enforcement in the village, as residents gathered in a compound, as reported by the President of the Mwaghavul Development Association, Joseph Gwankat.
