A former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yauri Local Government Area, Alhaji Rabiu Suleiman Gulma, has called on ex-Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election in Kebbi State.

Speaking to journalists in Yauri, Gulma said Malami’s background in governance and his national influence make him an ideal candidate to steer the state forward.

“Even though he hasn’t officially declared interest, we strongly believe Malami represents the leadership Kebbi needs. His track record is solid and speaks volumes,” he said.

Gulma added that he and other loyalists are ready to begin consultations and mobilize grassroots support across all 21 local government areas of the state, should Malami show willingness to run.

According to him, several APC stakeholders in Kebbi are hopeful that Malami’s entry into the race would unify the party and inject fresh momentum into the state’s development agenda.
