Polytechnic Lecturers Demand Action Or Face Full-Scale Strike Starting December 2
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has announced plans for a two-week warning strike starting December 2, 2024, in protest against the government’s failure to address 11 key demands. ASUP’s president, Kpanja Shamnah, emphasized that the strike would be a warning to the government to resolve the issues, including breaches in governance, unaddressed salary reviews, and delays in the release of intervention funds. If unresolved, the strike may escalate to an indefinite action.
