Portable Reveals Why He Didn’t Complete Studies At Kwara Poly

According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has opened up about the hardships he faced during his childhood, revealing how he struggled to fund his education without any financial support. The controversial artiste disclosed that he sold sachet water to support himself through school while growing up in a challenging family situation.

Portable made the revelation during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, in a clip shared as a YouTube Shorts video by Glitch Africa Studios on Monday, where he reflected on his early struggles, family background, and determination to eventually complete his education.

The singer explained that he was unable to finish his formal education due to lack of sponsorship, noting that he had to work to survive at the time. He expressed hope of returning to school in the future, stating that he still considers himself a student of Kwara State Polytechnic.

Portable also spoke about his family dynamics, alleging that while his father sponsored the education of his siblings, he was left to fend for himself and was often regarded as the less academically capable child. He added that despite those early labels, he is now the one supporting his family financially.
