Remains Of 13 Victims From Kogi Crash Released To Families By FRSC

Sector Commander Samuel Oyedeji revealed to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lokoja on Thursday that the handover occurred on Wednesday.
The victims tragically perished when their Sharon vehicle caught fire following a collision with a truck from behind, as earlier reported by Naija News, casting a shadow over the Easter celebrations in the state.
Oyedeji further disclosed that two survivors of the crash are presently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital within the state, recuperating from injuries sustained during the incident.
Initially, considering the possibility of a mass burial in Lokoja for the victims if their families didn’t come forward, the FRSC was in discussions with local police and Lokoja Local Government authorities. However, a significant development altered this plan.
“We received a call from the owner of the affected Sharon bus, and shortly after that, we got to know that the victims were all from Plateau,” explained Oyedeji.
Upon learning this, the families of the deceased requested the release of the bodies for burial in their home state. The FRSC complied with this request on Wednesday, facilitating the transportation of the remains to Jos, Plateau State.
The Sector Commander extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims, offering prayers for divine comfort and strength to endure this challenging time.
