Lere Olayinka, in a recent interview. Olayinka had blamed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a view Eze has condemned as groundless and contradictory.

In a statement released on Monday, Eze called Wike’s statements irrational and driven by personal animosity towards Atiku. He accused Wike of using these attacks to gain favor with President Bola Tinubu.

Eze, a member of the APC Legacy Projects Media Team, pointed out that Wike’s remarks were disconnected from the real issues plaguing the PDP, particularly the party’s leadership crisis after their defeat in the 2023 presidential election.

Eze further criticized Wike for focusing on personal ambitions instead of addressing key national issues as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He suggested that many Nigerians now view Wike as a dictator with a tendency to centralize power.

Addressing the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, Eze claimed that if Wike were a true democrat, he would not be in conflict with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, whom the people of Rivers elected to lead. He further warned that if he were in Fubara’s position, he would not allow Wike back into the state without risk.

Eze stated, “Wike’s actions after eight years in office show a desire to control the state and undermine Fubara’s leadership. If Wike were truly a progressive democrat, he would not be fighting Fubara.”

He also accused Wike of being the architect behind the ongoing crisis within the PDP due to his personal interests. He concluded by urging Wike to abandon his attacks on Atiku, as they would lead him nowhere politically.
