During an official visit to the FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, the brewery giant reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility. Okechukwu Nzeribe, Corporate Manager at International Breweries, led the delegation.
Speaking during the visit, FRSC Public Education Officer Margaret Onabe highlighted the collaboration’s goals: fostering synergy and championing road safety campaigns throughout the state.
“We appreciate International Breweries for their unwavering support and dedication to public safety,” said Corps Commander Alexander. “Collaborative efforts like this are crucial for achieving sustainable road safety outcomes.”
Reflective Jackets for Enhanced Visibility
A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of reflective jackets by International Breweries to the FRSC team. These jackets will significantly improve the visibility of FRSC officers, especially during night operations, ensuring their safety on the job.
Nzeribe pledged ongoing support, stating that the company is exploring additional areas of collaboration, including:
- Public Awareness Campaigns: Joint initiatives to educate drivers and road users.
- Driver Training Programs: Promoting defensive driving techniques and best practices.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Partnering on community projects and responsible drinking campaigns.
A Future of Safer Roads
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment to the partnership. Corps Commander Alexander expressed gratitude for the brewery’s support and called for more organisations to join the mission of making Anambra’s roads safer.
This collaboration is a step toward reducing accidents, improving traffic flow, and fostering a culture of safety among road users in the state.
