According to the statement, Ikemefuna peacefully departed from this world on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, expressed the condolences of the entire Nigeria Police Force to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late AIG during this challenging period.

The statement highlighted AIG Okoye Ikemefuna’s significant contributions and distinguished service to the nation throughout his career.

Born on June 15, 1955, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 1984. His dedication and commitment to duty left an enduring mark on the law enforcement community.

The statement recognized his exemplary service, particularly noting his tenures as Commissioner of Police in Ogun state from 2010 to 2014 and as AIG Zone 11 Osogbo in 2015.
